# ZIB Academy 2025 - Focusing on Educational Equity

 ###  Focusing on Educational Equity (08-10/09/2025)

 The ZIB Academy 2025 at TUM was dedicated to the key topic of **educational equity** and brought together international experts from educational research, education economics, and education policy. Over three days, the event offered practice-oriented workshops, interactive formats for exchange, and inspiring keynote lectures.

The academy opened with a multi-part workshop in which Professor Francesca Borgonovi (University College London, Social Research Institute) introduced participants to **large-scale assessments and educational equity**.

In the second main workshop, Dr. Diego G. Campos (University of Oslo, MapIE) provided **practical skills for analysing educational inequalities** using international large-scale assessment data (e.g. PISA, TIMSS).

A particular highlight was the public keynote lecture by Professor Ludger Wößmann (Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, ifo Center for the Economics of Education) on the relationship between **school performance, competencies**, and **prosperity**.

The programme was accompanied by a poster session in which early-career researchers presented their projects. Numerous additional **networking opportunities** offered possibilities for **professional exchange**.
