The results of PISA 2022 were presented to the public on 5 December 2023 at the Federal Press Conference in Berlin. During the press conference, study director Professor Doris Lewalter described the declining performance of 15-year-old students in Germany as a wake-up call. In mathematics in particular, young people in PISA 2022 achieved worse results than in 2018, which cannot be explained solely by the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
