PISA sample tasks

Not all original tasks from the PISA studies may be published, as some of them are reused in subsequent survey rounds.

Some of the tasks displayed here are from the main survey and have been authorised for publication by the OECD. The OECD only ever publishes tasks from the study’s focus area; for example, science tasks for the year 2025.

Other sample tasks collected here are not taken from the main survey. However, those tasks are very similar to the actual test tasks and therefore provide a good impression of the PISA tasks.

Some of the computer-based tasks may be completed in all PISA languages on the OECD website.

Sample tasks for science literacy (in German)

Sample tasks for reading literacy (in German)

Sample tasks for mathematical literacy (in German)

Sample tasks for Computational Problem-Solving / Learning in the Digital World (in German)

Tasks from 2000, 2003 and 2006 may be found on the website of IPN (Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education).

Please note: Copyright for the sample tasks and their solutions lies with the OECD.
