Successful teaching is digital — but not exclusively

Large-scale meta-study on the impact of digital media in schools

Students do better in science and maths and are more motivated when digital media are used in class. However, success hinges on how the media are employed. It is higher if children and young people are not left on their own to learn and traditional teaching material continues to be used as well. This is shown by one of the largest surveys in which around 80 individual studies were evaluated. The findings are summarised in a brochure so they can be practically applied in schools.

The brochure➚ on the study is available from Waxmann Verlag and can also be downloaded there for free➚.
The scientific article was published in the journal "Computers&Education".
